WHATS THE DIFFERENCE WITH ORGANIC ?
One of the most commonly asked questions is about the “DIFFERENCE” in organically grown and conventionally grown cotton. The most obvious difference is, of course, the growing methods utilized by the producer of the fiber. There are also differences in the processing at the mill, but other than that: organically grown cotton has the same properties as conventionally grown cotton!!!
WHAT IS ORGANIC FARMING ?
A production system which prohibits use of synthetic pesticides and fertilizers and relies on crop rotation, crop residues, animal manures, compost, nitrogen-fixing legume crops, mechanical cultivation, botanical or biological controls with minimum adverse effects on health and environment. A transition period of three years is required before crops are certified organic.
